01 / The Everyday Ritual

🍽️ A Sweeping Shape for Shared Food

Ribbonwave has an elongated oval center surrounded by a flowing, ribbon-like rim. Its design makes the outer edge expressive while leaving the middle suitable for arranging food in rows, clusters, or a loose family-style presentation.

The proposed 13-inch length provides room for pastries, sliced bread, roasted vegetables, or a small appetizer assortment. The low rim adds definition around the food, although this is a platter for solid foods rather than a deep vessel for liquid dishes.

A contrasting inner band follows the platter’s contour, creating a second line of movement. The colorful profile works particularly well as the central piece on a smaller table, where one distinctive serving object can carry the setting.
